Amanda and Andy

Spending time with Amanda and Andy was a lot of fun. A perfect day for a wedding! They both came to the union with two of their own children, each a boy and a girl. The girls are much closer in age to each other, and it was evident that they are SO PSYCHED to have a sister that's also a friend.

It was also very cool, because the wedding took me to Parlin, not far from Crested Butte, but still undiscovered for me. It took place at Andy's parents cabin, and the property was stunning. Expansive ranchland, huge cottonwoods, a pond, a river, rocky outcroppings....what an awesome place to get away from it all.

This time, I was joined by Heidi and Laura from Reel Weddings in Paradise shooting video. They were great to work with! And Keli from Misty Mountain Too once again, created stunning bouquets. To see the slideshow, click here.

Lynelle and Chris

Last week was a super busy one for me, and I survived! With pictures to tell the tale...

I spent Saturday with Lynelle and Chris, and they were married at Paradise Warming House on Crested Butte Mountain. Such a neat, private location. In the winter, it's only accessible by skiing to it.

I know many brides try hard to keep their dresses perfectly pressed for that moment down the aisle, and though Lynelle took great care in keeping her dress clean, we did spend some time tromping around in woods, and fields beforehand. What a payoff!

Some of the highlights were the kiddos who attended, Lily proved to be the most fun to shoot. There was a miscomunication about how her floral head piece should sit on her head, and I was lucky enough to get an Anne Geddes moment.

It was a really nice day for the Topp/Hopp Merger.

Nina and Jesse

Shooting weddings in Crested Butte is pretty much a dream job, but shooting a wedding for really fun locals is hard to top. Nina and Jesse hosted a wedding with an elegant, laid back style in a perfect setting with perfect weather.

The Studley Lane Ranch was a new venue for me, and I have to say it was awesome! It's located just outside of town, and is surrounded by all of Crested Butte's classic peaks.

Jesse and his men all had matching Nike's for their wedding attire, all with their initials and the date embroidered on the heels. Nina carried white roses with white orchids and her girls carried orange roses, which I've pretty much decided is my favorite color.

During the reception, I received one of the best compliments yet: A guest came up to me as I was looking through the shots on my camera and said, "You love your job, don't you?" And I said, "Yes!" He said, "Because every time I look over at you you are looking at your camera and smiling."

Does it get any better than that? Thanks Eric!
